Insurance Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction

These Insurance Terms and Conditions govern the optional shipment insurance products offered through the 16847323 CANADA LIMITED operating as Eyemesto Shipping ("Eyemesto Shipping") platform. Shipment insurance is underwritten and administered by third-party insurance providers (each, an "Insurer"). By purchasing shipment insurance, you agree to be bound by these terms as well as the Insurer's policy documents.

2. Coverage Overview

Shipment insurance, when purchased, may provide coverage for:

  • Physical loss or theft of an insured shipment.
  • Physical damage to insured goods during transit.
  • Coverage up to the declared value stated at the time of purchase.

3. Coverage Exclusions

Insurance coverage does not apply to:

  • Items included in the Prohibited Items Policy.
  • Perishable goods (unless otherwise specified by the Insurer).
  • Damage caused by inadequate packaging.
  • Inherent defects or pre-existing damage.
  • Consequential or indirect losses (for example, lost income).
  • Items not declared at the time of purchase.
  • Delay claims.
  • Mysterious disappearance without evidence of theft.
  • Government seizure or customs detention.

4. Purchasing Insurance

Insurance may be purchased at the time of shipment booking via the Eyemesto Shipping platform. Premiums are calculated based on the declared value and shipment destination. Once a shipment has been collected by the carrier, insurance coverage cannot be added retroactively.

5. Filing an Insurance Claim

To file a claim under shipment insurance:

  1. Notify Eyemesto Shipping at legal@eyemestoshipping.com within 7 days of the incident.
  2. Provide proof of value, such as the original invoice or receipt.
  3. Submit photographs of damaged goods and packaging.
  4. Provide the carrier's damage or loss confirmation.
  5. Complete the Insurer's claims form as directed.

6. Claims Resolution

Claims are subject to investigation by the Insurer. Eyemesto Shipping acts only as a facilitator and has no authority to approve or deny insurance claims. Resolution timelines are determined by the Insurer. Approved claims will be settled in accordance with the Insurer's policy.

7. Role of Eyemesto Shipping

Eyemesto Shipping is not an insurer and assumes no insurance liability. Its role is limited to facilitating access to third-party insurance products. The applicable insurance policy issued by the Insurer governs all coverage, exclusions, and claims.
